Ted Bahr co-founded BZ Media LLC in 1999, and serves as president and managing partner. He has more than two decades’ experience in executive management, technology publishing and event management, and advertising sales. Mr. Bahr manages all sales and marketing activities for BZ Media.

Before founding BZ Media, Ted Bahr was a group president and member of the board of directors of Miller Freeman Inc., now merged with CMP Media LLC as a division of United Business Media Plc. In his 12 years at Miller Freeman, Mr. Bahr managed several different computer, electronics and entertainment groups of magazines, conferences, trade shows and online properties, as well as launching seven magazines and countless other media properties.

Prior to joining Miller Freeman, Mr. Bahr worked for five years in advertising sales at Ziff-Davis Publishing on PC Magazine and PC Tech Journal. At the time, Ziff-Davis was the largest U.S. publisher of computer magazines.

In October 2005, Mr. Bahr was named to Folio: Magazine’s inaugural “Dream Team” as B-to-B Publisher.

Ted was inducted into the Media Industry News (MIN) Sales Hall of Fame in 2011.

Alan Zeichick co-founded BZ Media LLC in 1999, bringing 20+ years as a software developer, technology analyst and industry journalist to the company. He is also a member of the Editorial Committee of American Business Media.

After starting his career as a mainframe programmer and systems analyst in the 1970s, Mr. Zeichick shifted over to the world of technology journalism in 1984, beginning at a small publishing company in rural New England. From 1987-1990 he worked for IDG Communications and was recruited to Miller Freeman Inc. in 1990.

As an editor-in-chief and editorial director at Miller Freeman, Mr. Zeichick led the content-oriented aspects of the start-up, acquisition and repositioning of several publications, as well as several trade shows and conferences. His final project at the company was the award-winning repositioning and redesign of LAN Magazine into Network Magazine.

A prolific author and popular speaker, Mr. Zeichick left Miller Freeman in 1998 to develop Camden Associates, the technology analysis and consulting firm he launched in the early 1980s. In April 1999, he partnered with Ted Bahr to launch BZ Media LLC. Mr. Zeichick is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Stacy Burris joined BZ Media LLC in 2006, and serves dual roles as Director of Human Resources and Director of Events. Her responsibilities encompass organization and on-site management of the company’s technical conferences, human resource management and office management.

Prior to joining BZ Media, Ms. Burris served as Human Resources Manager for Bradley Marketing Group, a production firm that specializes in the procurement of branded materials. Prior to that, she was a Human Resources Specialist at EAC Inc. (Education & Assistance Corp.) a non-profit organization that provides educational, vocational, counseling and criminal justice services. Ms. Burris completed her undergraduate work at the Bryant College, where she studied business management.

 

Whitney Grekin

Whitney Grekin is the Director of Marketing, responsible for overall marketing for BZ Media and its properties. She has a specific focus on bringing attendees to BZ Media’s events, such as SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference, AnDevCon: The Android Developer Conference, and iPhone/iPad DevCon.

Ms. Grekin joined BZ Media in 2007 as a marketing intern. Upon graduating from Quinnipiac University in May 2009, she joined the BZ Media team as a full-time marketing assistant. Since then she has grown into her new role and taken on diverse responsibilities.

Prior to joining BZ Media, Ms. Grekin was a student at Quinnipiac University and studied abroad in Australia for 6 months. She was the Assistant Director of the Quinnipiac PR firm (SGPR), an active participant of PRSSA and a member of Lambda Pi Eta (Communications Honor Society).

David Lyman

David Lyman joined BZ Media in 2006, and was named Publisher of SD Times in 2010. Mr. Lyman is responsible for overall sales management, which includes print and online advertising sales for SD Times and SPTechWeb, and the company's lead-generation programs. Mr. Lyman also oversees exhibit and sponsorship sales for all conferences including iPhone/iPad DevCon, AnDevCon and SPTechCon.

Mr. Lyman came to BZ Media with more than 10 years of experience producing and selling online media, print publications, and technical conferences. Previously, he served as National Sales Manager at Fawcette Technical Publications (which was acquired by 1105 Media Inc.), where he worked on their JavaPro, Enterprise Architect and online brands.

Mr. Lyman is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and lives on the north shore of Boston with his wife and two sons. In his spare time, he skis in the mountains of Vermont and enjoys sailing with the family up, down and around the New England coast.

Viena Ludewig

Viena Ludewig, CPA, is BZ Media’s Controller and Director of Finance. After a period of consulting for the company, Ms. Ludewig joined the management team in 2005. A senior finance professional with more than 15 years’ experience, Ms. Ludewig is responsible for all finance functions, including accounting, receivables, payables and treasury management.

Prior to joining BZ Media, Ms. Ludewig worked in various positions in finance and accounting where she gained experience in managerial and operational accounting. Ms. Ludewig spent two years earlier in her career with BDO Seidman, LLP, auditing public, private and non-for profit clients. Ms. Ludewig holds a B.A. in Accounting and Information Systems, and Economics. She and her family live on Long island, N.Y., and travel frequently to Pennsylvania where they enjoy nature and outdoor activities.

Craig Reino directly supports the technical aspects of sales, staff, partners, customers and readers at BZ Media. Mr. Reino is responsible for the technical quality of our Web-based and e-products, as well as customer and reader satisfaction worldwide. He joined BZ Media in 2006, and brings over 12 years of technical and customer service and support experience to his position and oversees the technical support operations with a focused team based in the United States.

Prior to joining BZ Media, Mr. Reino worked as a technical support manager with MSEDP, where he supported their daily business operations. Mr. Reino has a degree in computer science and information systems, and is a Lotus Certified Professional.

David Rubinstein is the director of editorial operations at BZ Media, as well as editor-in-chief of the company’s flagship SD Times, the monthly magazine for software development managers. In addition, Mr. Rubinstein is chairman of BZ Media’s SharePoint Technology Conference (SPTechCon), and the editor of the SPTechWeb site and the weekly SharePoint Technology Report (SPTechReport).

Mr. Rubinstein is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Journalism and has more than 30 years of experience in the field. He joined BZ Media in 1999 from Newsday, Long Island’s daily newspaper. He has a wife and three daughters, and in those rare moments when he’s not typing, Mr. Rubinstein enjoys baseball, the beach, bicycling and classic rock.
